Introduction

I saw a neat post on Reddit the other day of a guy who listened to a bunch of Hip Hop albums even though he knew nothing about Hip Hop. Then he reviewed it and scored it on a spreadsheet. I thought it was really interesting.

Yesterday I was out with some friends and drinking a few beers. I was just drinking an assortment of brands that had been building up in my fridge, so there was a wide variety. I've never really noticed the difference in taste between different brands until I tried drinking different ones right after another. After that, it was really obvious how different they were. So I brought it up, and someone jokingly said I should start reviewing beers because I know nothing about them.

At that point, I figured I know so little about basically everything, so I could review just about anything and that it would still apply. So I've decided to start writing here to figure it out.

I figure I would eat/drink/listen/experience something, share my thoughts on it and then score it out of 10.

Just so you know, I'm a firm believer that the average review score should be 7.5/10, not 5/10. A lot of people think 5 is right, because its halfway between 1 and 10, so why shouldn't it be the average? But I think they fail to realize the sheer amount of garbage that is out there. Yes, you may not have liked that movie, but it's still miles ahead of the truly terrible. And I don't even mean something a 12 year old films with his camcorder, I mean other actual films. One of the worst movies I've ever seen is Birdemic. Everything about that is awful, from the acting to the writing. I would still hesitate to give that a 1 out of 10, because I still think there's worse movies out there. But until I find one of those movies, Birdemic is my standard for 1 out of 10.

Let's see how it goes.
